Hit-and-run crash causes personal injury and death

Hit-and-run accidents are among many drivers' nightmares. Being involved in an accident can be traumatizing, even more so if the driver or a passenger suffered a personal injury. However, knowing that others involved chose to flee can, for some, make everything worse. Police in Florida are currently asking anyone with information about a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Feb. 25 to contact their office.

Drunk driving alleged against mother

It isn't unusual for people to make poor decisions while under the influence of alcohol. Some become giddy while others become almost violently angry. These emotional reactions can be magnified by stressful situations or poor decisions. A mother in Florida was recently arrested and accused of drunk driving with a child in the car as well as other crimes after she supposedly experienced what some might call an emotional outburst.

Wrong-way collision results in personal injury, fatalities

Even though Florida is known as the Sunshine State, like other states at this time of year, it can get dark very quickly. Many times, auto accidents can be avoided if drivers are reasonably careful and their vehicles are functioning properly. Unfortunately, two young women were killed and two others each suffered a personal injury in a crash that involved a vehicle with possibly malfunctioning headlights.

Is litigation necessary to get compensation after a car wreck?

If you've suffered injuries in a car wreck, the last thing you probably want to do is go to court to get fair compensation. The idea of a trial can be pretty overwhelming, especially when you are already dealing with a lot of physical, financial and emotional pain. Thankfully, in Florida and elsewhere, people can settle most car accident cases out of court so litigation may not be necessary.

Jury awards $109 million in medical malpractice suit

People who are planning to undergo surgery often worry about what complications might possibly arise, like infection or items being left inside the body after surgery. Often, these problems never arise, but there are times when the complications become so severe that they can cause problems that the patient would never have expected. A woman in Florida was recently awarded more than $100 million in a medical malpractice suit filed after surgical complications ultimately resulted in the loss of her hands and feet.
