Driver fatigue suspected in crash resulting in personal injury

There are a wide variety of hazards on the road that may cause an accident. Some of these accidents have an outside cause, such as poor weather conditions, and others are caused by other drivers. Even a small mistake can cause a serious crash. For example, many people are guilty of driving while tired. Often, drivers are able to stay awake and complete their trips with few problems, but sometimes, the driver is overwhelmed by his or her exhaustion, which can result in a crash causing personal injury, as was the case in Florida.

A life jacket may help to prevent personal injury

Boating is a popular activity in Florida among both locals and tourists. Unfortunately, many people neglect to take proper safety precautions, and accidents can occur. These accidents can often result in the personal injury or death of one or more people. Authorities are encouraging boaters to wear life jackets and take safety courses in order to prevent injuries and fatalities.

Street racing accident results in personal injury and fatality

Fast cars and drag racing are appealing to many people across the nation. Many people limit their interest in this dangerous activity to movies, television shows and video games. However, some people allow their interest in street racing to take a dangerous turn by taking part in a real race. These races are illegal in many places across the United States, including in Florida, and a race gone wrong can potentially result in serious personal injury or even death.

Many suffer personal injury after major crash

A crash involving multiple vehicles is likely to result in the severe injury or death of at least one of the individuals involved. Florida residents may recall one such accident that occurred last week on the morning of April 26. The crash involved 17 different vehicles, and many people suffered personal injury because of the accident.

Jogger suffers personal injury in hit-and-run accident

People across the country are constantly distracted by their cellphones in some way, whether it be by a text, social media or a simple phone call. While this constant level of distraction is not normally a problem, other than being slightly frustrating, this can quickly change if the distracted individual is behind the wheel of a car. In Florida, a young man suffered a personal injury after being hit by a driver who was distracted by his cellphone.

Boat crash results in personal injury and death

Boating is a popular activity amongst both locals and tourists in Florida. It isn't unusual for boaters to drink and eat while floating on the water, but many may not realize that attempting to drive a boat after consuming alcohol can be just as dangerous as driving a car while intoxicated. Recently, there was a boat crash that resulted in the fatal personal injury of two individuals.

Hit-and-run crash causes personal injury and death

Hit-and-run accidents are among many drivers' nightmares. Being involved in an accident can be traumatizing, even more so if the driver or a passenger suffered a personal injury. However, knowing that others involved chose to flee can, for some, make everything worse. Police in Florida are currently asking anyone with information about a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Feb. 25 to contact their office.

Wrong-way collision results in personal injury, fatalities

Even though Florida is known as the Sunshine State, like other states at this time of year, it can get dark very quickly. Many times, auto accidents can be avoided if drivers are reasonably careful and their vehicles are functioning properly. Unfortunately, two young women were killed and two others each suffered a personal injury in a crash that involved a vehicle with possibly malfunctioning headlights.

Fatal personal injury may spark major changes

Graduation for many people is a much anticipated and celebrated time. Many recent graduates, both high school and college, go out and celebrate, occasionally in grand fashion. Some go out with friends or with family to do something fun or relaxing. Unfortunately, sometimes, these activities can go awry. Last summer, a graduate of the University of Miami in Florida suffered a fatal personal injury in an air-boating accident the day after her graduation, and her death could spark major changes to airboating regulations.

Bryant & Higby lead lawsuit against drug manufacturers

As the war rages against opioid addiction and its related crimes and consequences, a new battle plan has emerged, taking aim at the manufacturers of highly addictive drugs like OxyContin. Lawsuits across the country allege that pharmaceutical companies knew of the dangerously addictive potential in these drugs, yet they did not warn the medical community. In a recent move unanimously approved by the Bay County Commissioners, our law firm, Bryant and Higby Attorneys at Law has been tapped to represent this Florida County in its own lawsuit.
