Fatal personal injury may spark major changes

Graduation for many people is a much anticipated and celebrated time. Many recent graduates, both high school and college, go out and celebrate, occasionally in grand fashion. Some go out with friends or with family to do something fun or relaxing. Unfortunately, sometimes, these activities can go awry. Last summer, a graduate of the University of Miami in Florida suffered a fatal personal injury in an air-boating accident the day after her graduation, and her death could spark major changes to airboating regulations.

Bryant & Higby lead lawsuit against drug manufacturers

As the war rages against opioid addiction and its related crimes and consequences, a new battle plan has emerged, taking aim at the manufacturers of highly addictive drugs like OxyContin. Lawsuits across the country allege that pharmaceutical companies knew of the dangerously addictive potential in these drugs, yet they did not warn the medical community. In a recent move unanimously approved by the Bay County Commissioners, our law firm, Bryant and Higby Attorneys at Law has been tapped to represent this Florida County in its own lawsuit.

Bad prank results in medical malpractice suit

In an environment where co-workers work long hours together, it isn't unusual for them to become friendly towards one another, as many Florida residents may know. Some may even become comfortable enough to joke around with or pull pranks on one another. Most of the time these jokes and pranks are harmless fun, like moving objects or jump scares. However, there are times when these jokes can go a step too far. One woman has filed a medical malpractice and invasion of privacy lawsuit against the hospital where she once worked because of photos that were taken by a colleague during her surgery.

When dangerous products cause you harm, what can you do?

When you purchase a product, whether it is for your home, your own personal use or your family members, it is with the expectation that you will not suffer unnecessary harm because of it. However, Florida consumers suffer harm every day because of dangerous products, yet many do not realize that they have the right to seek financial compensation.

Accident causes death and severe personal injury

During the holiday season, families travel extensively. Some only travel a few minutes down the road, and others travel across the country. Of course, the extra drivers on the road usually mean that there is a higher risk of traffic accidents. Florida Highway Patrol responded to a call last weekend which resulted in not only the deaths of two individuals, but the personal injury of several others.
